Utilities

All utilities, water, electric, phone lines, internet and cable TV are available on site. There is a fiber optic cable that was put in recently that runs along the main road right in front of the property. The main highway is slated to become the new Pan American highway that will run from Panama up through Costa Rica to the North. Therefore, they are in the process of improving the entire stretch of highway to Panama. They are putting in a huge underground communications cable on the Central Pacific Coast that will not only service the west coast, but the entire country.

Security

Security is always a concern no matter where you live. There are problems with crime in Costa Rica just like every other place in the world. However, we have a very unique situation at Las Olas Beach Community that you won't find in most other place. Las Olas Beach Community sits in the middle of a charming little village called Esterillos Oeste. It has a population of about 300 people. The village has restaurants, health clinic, food market, stores, internet café, low tide bar and even local fisherman. Las Olas Beach Community will have private security just like other developments, but there is more. The village has its own police department and as the village grows so will the number of police. Also there is an ADP type service right next to our property. They provide wired alarm service to each home and they have people on motor bikes to respond to any alarms. So as you can imagine we do not have a lot of problems in Esterillos Oeste with crime.
